Agribank and Nonghyup Bank - South Korea launch overseas remittance services without bank accounts

On January 23, 2018, in Hanoi, Agribank and Nonghyup Financial Group, South Korea (NHFG) launched the “Overseas remittance services without bank accounts”.
Agribank and Nonghyup Bank (NHB) - a unit of the NHFG Group - cooperate to provide Overseas remittance services without bank accounts using United States Dollars (USD) from South Korea to individuals in Vietnam through the network of NHB and Agribank, in accordance with international laws and regulations on money transfer activities. This is a convenient and fast money transfer service with competitive fees.
 
"With the potential and benefits of this new service, I believe that overseas remittance services without bank account will be expanded and developed in a safe and effective manner, especially, it will meet the demand for convenient services of customers of two countries. The launch of the Overseas remittance service is an important milestone in the friendly relationship between Agribank and Nonghyup Financial Group. I believe this cooperation will continue to be further developed and bring about practical benefits for both sides, contributing to the economic development of Vietnam and South Korea" - Chairman of Agribank, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Khanh addressed at the launching ceremony.
 
Specifically, customers in South Korea can come to 1,163 NHB branches or use the application on their mobile phones to transfer money; Customers in Vietnam can receive money at any of the 2,300 branches/transaction offices of Agribank nationwide.
 
With the launch of this service, Agribank and the NHB look forward to reaching nearly 150,000 Vietnamese target customers who are living and working in South Korea. “This is a fruitful result for the close cooperation between NHFG and Agribank", said NHFG Group Chairman Kim Jong Hwan.
 
In the afternoon of the same day, Chairman of Agribank Trinh Ngoc Khanh had a high-level meeting with the Chairman of the NHFG Group to continue implementing signed agreements more smoothly and effectively, bringing practical benefits to both Agribank and NHFG.
 
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Khanh - Chairman of Agribank BOD - said at the meeting: "Agribank always considers NHFG a big friend. We are delighted that the cooperative relationship between Agribank and Nonghyup Bank, a member of the NHFG, has been growing, especially the staff exchange/training programs between the two banks."
 
With many similarities as goals, missions for agricultural and rural development. large-scale operation, multi-functional business (finance, banking and insurance), strong reputation and strong brand in the market, responsibilities to farmers and communities, playing an important role in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Government and the Central Bank on development, expansion and orientation of agricultural and rural markets; Agribank hopes that cooperation between the two sides will be more profound and effective, exploiting new opportunities in line with the development trend of the two countries.
