Vietnam's exports to Laos reached USD 656.4 million, an increase of 10.4%, of which the main export items include petroleum of all kinds, fertilizers, iron and steel, machinery, equipment and spare parts, iron and steel, etc.
The total trade turnover of Vietnam - Laos in 2022 is worth USD 1.703 billion, an increase of 24% compared to the whole year of 2021.
Vietnam's exports to Laos reached USD 656.4 million, an increase of 10.4%. Main export items including petroleum of all kinds reached USD 125.4 million, an increase of 439%; fertilizers of all kinds reached USD 32.5 million, an increase of 31.2%; iron and steel of all kinds reached USD 60.1 million, a decrease of 15%; other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached USD 59.2 million, an increase of 1.4%; iron and steel products reached USD 44.3 million, a decrease of 41%; means of transport and spare parts reached USD 36.6 million, a decrease of 20.7%.
Imports reached USD 1.047 billion, an increase of 34.6%. The main imported items including timber and wood products reached USD 140 million, an increase of 29.4%; fertilizers of all kinds reached USD 92 million, an increase of 50%; rubber reached USD 242.2 million, an increase of 30.4%; corn reached USD 29 million, an increase of 5.25%.
Particularly in December 2022, the total trade turnover between Vietnam and Laos reached USD 211 million, an increase of 60% compared to November 2021. In which, Vietnam's export turnover to Laos in December 2022 reached USD 101 million, a sharp increase of 129% compared to November 2022.
Several items exported to Laos have a sudden increase in value in December, including gasoline and oil of all kinds reaching USD 60.1 million, an increase of 721.7% compared to November 2022. This is the result of trade cooperation to support petroleum supply between the two countries in the past years; followed by machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with USD 4.4 million, an increase of 60.6%; iron and steel of all kinds reached USD 3.6 million, an increase of 22.1%; paper and paper products reached USD 1.4 million, an increase of 50.6%, etc.
Vietnam's imports from Laos in December 2022 reached a value of USD 110.2 million, an increase of 24.4% compared to November 2022. Main imported products include rubber with USD 27 million, an increase of 25.9%; fertilizers of all kinds reached USD 7.4 million, an increase of 57%, vegetables and fruits reached USD 360,000, an increase of 189%.
