The State Bank of Vietnam has appointed Mr. To Huy Vu, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the State Bank, to the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank, effective April 3. 

On April 3, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) held a conference to announce the decisions appointing the Secretary of the Party Committee and the Chairman of the Board of Members of the bank. 

Accordingly, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong presented the decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. To Huy Vu, Director of the International Cooperation Department (SBV), to the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank, effective April 3. At the same time, Mr. Vu was also appointed Secretary of the Agribank Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. 

Mr. To Huy Vu was born in 1980 and is originally from Thanh Hoa. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, a Master's in Business Administration, a Master's in Management, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the French Republic, along with advanced political theory training. 

Before being appointed Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank, Mr. Vu had many years of experience in the banking sector, holding positions such as Deputy Director of the Monetary Forecasting and Statistics Department, Director of the Monetary Forecasting and Statistics Department, and Director of the International Cooperation Department, etc.

Governor Nguyen Thi Hong affirmed that the appointment of senior leadership personnel will help Agribank strengthen its governance and operational capacity to continue fulfilling its political tasks and business operations in the time ahead. 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. To Huy Vu stated that he would continue to leverage his expertise and work capabilities, collaborating with the Party Committee’s Standing Board, the Party Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of Management, and the entire Agribank system to overcome all challenges and complete assigned tasks. This includes focusing on comprehensively achieving the 2025 business targets and assigned duties, as well as the restructuring plan associated with bad debt handling for the 2021-2025 period.

Also at the conference, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong presented the decisions to transfer and appoint Ms. Thai Thi An Hoa, Deputy Director of the Monetary Forecasting, Statistics, and Financial Stability Department, and Mr. Le Manh Thang, Head of the Supervisory Board of GPBank, as members of the Agribank Supervisory Board, effective April 3.
